What is McLaren Vale Shiraz?

Cooling from Gulf St Vincent gives McLaren Vale Shiraz a slightly fresher, more red-fruited profile than the Barossa, often with a distinctive savoury, salted-chocolate character.

The region has also become the centre of Australia’s Grenache revival, producing perfumed, medium-bodied wines a long way from the jammy style the variety once had here.
